Born March 22, 1943, La Habana, Cuba. Theologian, professor, activist. Ada María Isasi-Díaz was born and raised in La Habana, Cuba. She received her primary and secondary school education at Merci Academy, a school run by nuns of the Order of St. Ursula. Ada Maria left Cuba in 1960 and became a political refugee. Living in the United States, she entered the Order of St. Ursula, and earned a B.A. in European History from the College of New Rochelle in New York. In January of 1967 she went to Li...
