Born March 22, 1943, La Habana, Cuba. Theologian, professor, activist. Ada María Isasi-Díaz was born and raised in La Habana, Cuba. She received her primary and secondary school education at Merci Academy, a school run by nuns of the Order of St. Ursula. Ada Maria left Cuba in 1960 and became a political refugee.
